Students who complete their pathway programme (International Foundation Year, International Year One or Pre-Master's) and achieve the required grades, will be awarded a scholarship upon progression to the University of Huddersfield.

How does a merit-based scholarship work?

The University of Huddersfield's merit-based scholarship is determined by the grades you achieve at the end of your pathway programme at the International Study Centre.

Pass (40%-58%)

£2000

Pass with Merit (59%-68%)

£3000

Pass with Commendation (69%+)

£4000

The scholarship is awarded each academic year of your course, except for placement years.

You will not need to apply for the scholarship, it will be awarded to all applicants automatically on confirmation of progression grades.

Am I eligible for the joint scholarship?

There are some exclusions to the merit-based scholarship with certain progression degrees offering a maximum scholarship amount of £2,000. These exclusions apply to students progressing to:

  • The School of Arts and Humanities.

Please note the following criteria:

  • Self-funded applicants only.

  • PG Taught programmes only (not available for Masters by Research/Masters with Placement/PhD/Doctorates).

  • Not available for placement components.

  • Applicants with refugee, asylum-seeker status or indefinite leave to remain in the UK, or those here on dependency visas will not qualify.
