Overview

The University of Gloucestershire comprises three campuses across Cheltenham and Gloucester and was awarded university status in 2001 following the merger of numerous institutions. 9,200 students are currently enrolled from over 60 different countries.

Gloucestershire courses feature local and international field trips, a variety of work experience opportunities, and learning industry-related skills. The university is proud of what students learn and how well-equipped they are, so much so that 96% of Gloucestershire graduates are in work or further study (Graduate Outcomes 2023) within 15 months.

The university recently received a silver rating in the 2023 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) with “very high-quality” student experience and outcomes and ‘outstanding quality’ overall in staff professional development and academic practice. This speaks volumes about teaching quality and students' positive outlook when studying here.

Gloucestershire also made the UK’s top 20 for career prospects in the WhatUni Student Choice Survey 2023.

Services for International Students

The University of Gloucestershire provides support services to assist international students in settling into life in the UK and fully benefiting from their time at the university. Meeting people and joining the community has never been easier for them. The university's student union boasts over 60 clubs and societies they can be involved with. The Chaplaincy has a non-biased faith space on every campus and often runs the Global Cafe weekly, providing an opportunity for students worldwide to connect. The chaplaincy also frequently organizes bespoke events and trips.

Additionally, two student hubs support students in Gloucester and Cheltenham. These hubs serve as places where students can find advice and information about international advisers, money, library services, career advice, and student services.

The Visa and Immigration teams at the University of Gloucestershire will advise international students to come to the UK once they have received an offer from the university.
