Located on the beautiful south coast of England, in what is officially one of the sunniest parts of the UK, and the 3rd safest university city in England and Wales*, the University of Chichester offers a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in subject areas as diverse as Business Management, Dance, Film and Media, Computer Games Design, Sports, Education and Youth Studies, Law, and Psychology, Counselling and Criminology.

Services for International Students

The University of Chichester runs two International Orientation events in September to help you settle in quickly and meet other students. Free International Academic Language Support sessions are offered throughout the semester, ranging from pre-sessional English lessons to a BA in International English Studies completed alongside a standard degree.


The University is known for its outstanding student experience and was rated the 21st-best university in the UK by the Guardian University Guide. Its students are among the happiest in the UK, according to the National Student Survey, which placed it among the UK’s top 25 for high student satisfaction. Employability is high on its agenda, with nearly 93 per cent of its students finding employment or undertaking further education just six months after graduating.

REF 2021 classified 86 per cent of the University of Chichester's outputs as internationally renowned and a further 12 per cent as world-leading. Other strong results included:

  • Sport – which was deemed 73 per cent internationally excellent or world-leading
  • English and Creative Writing – judged 68 per cent internationally excellent or world-leading
  • History – measured at 66 per cent internationally excellent or world-leading


The University of Chichester offers a variety of catered and self-catered rooms in multiple halls of residence on each campus. The Accommodation Office can help students find rented accommodation in Chichester and Bognor Regis. Homestay is also available with a landlord or host family, which can help improve English language skills and immerse students in English culture.


The University of Chichester has campuses in Chichester and Bognor Regis, in West Sussex, in the southeast of England. Chichester is a university city and is home to several historic buildings, as well as being popular with outdoor pursuits in the nearby South Downs. Bognor Regis is a historic seaside resort town popular with tourists, featuring long beaches and many small villages nearby.
